F-102A - RARE PROTOTYPE MILITARY JET
This photo was taken outside of a hanger at Chanute AFB "87 February. This is the first and only A Model of the F-102 and is a 2 seater side by side. It was designed as an air to air interceptor and the second seat was to coordinate the launching of the Air to Air missiles "launch controlled" from Cheyenne mountain Wyoming.. The site used in the series SG1 Stargate. This bird was Grossly underpowered and could barely make Mach 1. The follow on plane F-106 was almost the same airframe with huge air intakes on either side and behind the cockpit.
